Freedom - International Pride Parade
7 March 2020 (Wellington)
Am I free? In a world governed by a few, where rules are abundant and moral judgment omni-present, our freedom as human beings is often questioned. Growing up thinking that everything is possible, conventions quickly take over, transforming us into shadows of ourselves.
With our third exhibition “freedom”, taking place at the Wellington Pride Parade, we aim to shed light on self-censures and turn questions such as “How should I behave? “ Or “What should I say, make or do?” into a realm of free expression. Dropping off the masks of society, each individual entering The Nomadic Art Gallery is given the chance to express him or herself, either on the bodymodel or on the inside walls of the truck. This “box of free expression” gave rise to colours, drawings and poetry.
